On 20th July 2018, parents and family members were invited to join us at our Family Sports Day. There were more than 180 family members who came to support us at the event. The event aimed to help children develop confidence and social awareness, as well as promote bonding amongst the MK @ Northoaks big family.
We began the day with a breakfast session with our families! Children served breakfast to their family members as a form of appreciation and love for them.
At the end of the breakfast session, parents were invited to share their thoughts on the breakfast session and how the children helped their parents at home.
“She helped to hang the clothes at home.”
“She helped me with the little brother at home and she took milk for me today.”
“She’s very helpful, she will help to clean the house.”
“He helped to keep away the dishes after we had our meals.”
Quality time spent with one another over breakfast.
Games were also organised for parents during the event.
Before the start of the sports event, we danced to the song “L, O, V, E” to remind ourselves never to forget loving and caring for the people around us. Then, each family folded a towel into a butterfly to send their love to their loved ones.

The parent-child game “Captain Love”, where the children were tasked to lead their blindfolded parents to the ending point using their voices.
The last activity was the parent-parent game, “Scavenger Adventure”.
The joyous event rounded up the SSDB Project and many parents wrote kind notes to show their appreciation for the project. Thank you parents! It has been a meaningful journey for us.
