To encourage family bonding and giving back to the society, our school organised a Family and Fund Raising Day in school on 16th August 2019.
As part of the SSDB project, we encouraged parent child projects using recycle materials to create crafts which were kept for sale during the Event to raise funds. The school was able to raise a total of $4756 and all the proceeds were donated to AWWA’s Services for Senior Community Home.
Nursery 2 teachers also set up ‘Eco Dye Art’ stall. The Eco dye was made using vegetable and fruits that were thrown or spoilt by the nearby supermarket. We made pink colour from onion skin, purple from purple cabbage, reddish pink from blueberry and yellow from tumeric ginger.
Parents and kids used these natural dye to paint drawstring pouches.
Children learnt the virtue of sharing, caring and giving back to the society through this event.
