In collaboration with Choa Chu Kang Zone 4 RC, our K2 children invited elderly from the silver corner at Choa Chu Kang Block 217 for an excursion to Science Centre Singapore. During the excursion, children learn the significance of ageism and develop sense of empathy towards elderly as they learn the changes in a person as they grow older. After the sharing by the facilitator at the exhibition, children asked questions and recognize ways to help elderly as they go through physical changes. Towards the end of the activity, children and elderly collaboratively complete an artwork together. Our K2 children also presented their appreciation card to the elderly for thanking them for their contribution to the society over the past years and of course for joining them to the excursion.
