Our Nursery 2 to Kindergarten 2 children marked their first-ever Start Small Dream Big Project. This project opened an oppurtunity for them to show compassion to elders and to value the environment through recycling. With this, we had our Pre-Launch activity whereby they went out for a walk to look for the twigs that they will be using to create a recycled invitation card. Furthermore, they also tore used newspapers into smaller pieces, mashed it under the water with acrylic paints making an old newspaper into a new paper. We gave out the hand-made invitation cards to their parents/grandparents to cordially invite them to our Launch Party happened last 15th April 2019, entitled “Elders Matters”. Children serenaded their parents/grandparents by showing their talents in playing glokenspiels and rhythm sticks with the song, “You are my Sunshine”. Moreover, they had a bonding session whereby they created a tulip artwork with their parents/grandparents. Lastly, the children and their parents/ grandparents went on a neighbourhood walk parade to give out packs of dry and wet tissues to the elderly in showing concern and kindness to them.
Indeed, a meaningful day for everyone! Let’s continue to spread kindness to elders!
