Earth Week continues to grow as a worldwide phenomenon focused on promoting clean living and a healthy, sustainable habitat for people and wildlife alike. Celebrating Earth Day serves as a conscious reminder of how fragile our planet is and how important it is to protect it. Children from Sengkang Riverside Campus celebrated Earth Day to continue promoting environmental awareness and to remind one another that we can protect the earth and that every little effort counts.
Through various hands-on activities held in the respective classes, our children understood better the rationale behind what Earth Day is all about!
Our N2 to K2 teachers performed a short play “Saving Our Tree”. The children enjoyed the presentation and learnt the moral of the story. Teachers took the opportunity to explain the importance of 3Rs; to reduce, reuse and recycle the amount of waste everyone produce as it is the best way to help the environment. After which, we had a short session of sharing by the children on how they have been helping to care the Earth.
