The Dumpling Festival, also known as Dragon Boat Festival or Duan Wu Jie, is an important festival for Chinese Communities. The Dragon Boat Festival Celebration was held for the children at Mini World Child Care on 18th June 2018 to encourage appreciation of the different cultures and events in Singapore.
The event kicked start with our teachers sharing the origin of the Dumpling Festival followed by demonstrating the steps to create a dumpling. The children learned to make “zongzi” , a pyramid-shaped dumpling made of Glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves.
The celebration ended with the children giving hugs and the ”zongzi” to their granparents to show them their love and appreciation. Thankyou….grandparents….for the unconditional love….
