Di Tanjong Katong
It is essential to celebrate and embrace diversity in our community. It helps our children and families to know and appreciate the cultures, beliefs and traditions people bring to the community. However, before we build a world that celebrates diversity, children need to discover the uniqueness of our community. Hence, the children started a learning journey to find out how Katong, also known as Tanjong Katong, gets its name. Do you know? We found out that Katong got its name from an ultra-rare sighting of the Leatherback sea turtle (known as “Katong” in Javanese) back in the 80s. Check out our children’s creation of Tanjong Katong Beach and sea turtles, Katong.
