Life is great with a heart full of gratitude! We embark on the journey to create opportunities for ourselves to become more aware and appreciative towards our environment and people around us.
Our project launched with Earth Day Celebration where we appreciate the beauty in nature and how we can sustain by reducing the use of plastic and binning our litters.
During Labour Day celebration, we discussed about how 3 unsung heroes in our community contribute to our environment and comfort - the bus captains, the dish collectors and the Cleaners and our responsibility to support their work such as appropriate behaviour on public transport, put back our tray after meals, ensuring our litters are binned.
As a follow up to our discussion and Kindness.sg day, we took public transport and visited the bus captains at Bedok Interchange. We had a Q and A session with the bus captains to understand more about the nature and challenges of their work and how we can support them when we use public transport.
During the diversity week, we shared on the important of conservation and pledged to fight for climate change.
We joined 3M challenge with Southeast CDC to raise 3M products for needy families through physical activities. We incorporate the 3M challenge with Food bank drive on 30 Aug as a closure to our SSDB journey.
Incorporating SSDB with our periodical school and community events add meaning and connection to what we should appreciate and could contribute as part of a community.
