Eshkol Valley at Gospel Light Christian Church decided to collaborate with Bethesda Senior Activity Centre (BCARE) for 2021’s Start Small Dream Big project. Based on the story ‘ The Giving Tree’ written by the author Shel Silverstein, the school initiated a home-school partnership in how to contribute and give back to the society. Parents and children were encouraged to do some crafts by using recycled materials and also engaged in a food donation drive. All the food donations collected will be used to bless the seniors from BCARE. Parents were quite happy and supportive of this event and the school also received lots of positive reviews from them. We also had a zoom interactive session with the seniors. The interactive session include storytelling session from one of the seniors, song and dance performances by the children and Singapore workout for all of them. They loved and enjoyed this interactive zoom session very much. Once again, we are thankful for all the support received by the parents and definitely more motivated to do more of such activities in the future.
