In celebration of the “DOING GOOD TOGETHER: CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF START SMALL DREAM BIG” SSDB 2024 theme, the K1 and K2 classes visited the Man Fut Tong Nursing Home, embodying the spirit of preschool-families-community collaborations. This visit highlighted the combined efforts of children, families, educators, and community partners in community service projects. Aligning with the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s Year of Celebrating Volunteers and the President’s Challenge focus on promoting volunteerism, the children performed dances, folded heart-shaped origami, and presented handmade bead bracelets to the elderly folks. It’s worth noting that the elderly folks they engaged with are only at the day care and will be returning home after the day. The joy and smiles exchanged during the visit underscored the profound impact of these young volunteers, reinforcing the culture of volunteerism for societal betterment.
