On 21st July 2017, we went out for a learning journey to Marine Cove together with almost all of the children and their parents. The purpose of the trip was to allow the teachers, parents and children to bond with one another by having a mass picnic. Additionally, we wanted to showcase to the parents how responsible the children are now after the Start Small Dream Big Initiative. The children have planned to not only set up the picnic mats for their parents and teachers, but also to independently clean up the premises used. Black trash bags, plastic gloves and tongs were prepared to help the children’s endeavours. On top of working together collaboratively, they were also taught on the different types of litter they should and should not pick up, such as, unknown and sharp objects, defecated matter and animal carcasses.
