This year our K2 children decided to DIY hand soap to share with the HDB migrant workers that are doing home improvement project in the Neighbourhood … they worked in groups , each assigned to different tasks .
We took the soap, grate it to make soap flakes . Put the grated soap into large bowl and mix it. Bring the water to boil and stir, after that cool for 12 hours.
Next day, we washed the empty recycle bottle , donated by our parents .. and pour our DIY hand soap in the bottle , we designed our own label and paste on the bottle.
Teacher Maye asked the children how they would like to share their handsoap . “ Can we share with the workers , they work so hard and they eat their lunch on the floor , it is important for them to wash their hands”.
Children distributed their DIY hand soap to the migrant workers , elderly , and essential workers in the community . It’s a great opportunity to teach them the values of care and share with others.
