As part of our SSDB “We Heartly Connect”, we want to celebrate not just our immediate families, but our grandparents too. In collaboration with Families for Life, the annual ‘Celebrating Our Grands’ celebrates the strong bonds between multiple generations of the family. This nation-wide celebration hopes to inculcate important family values of ‘Love’, ‘Care & Concern’, ‘Commitment’ and ‘Respect’ in our young and encourage them to show appreciation for their grandparents.
Little Atlas Preschool wishes to give credit to our grandparents too! Most of us have fond memories of visiting our grandparents over the weekends and holidays to spend quality time and fun. Some of our grandparents even live with us and care for us on a daily basis. Oftentimes, they may seem like babysitters for busy parents, but let’s not forget all the values they teach us along the way; filial piety, respect for the elderly, and even how they show us that old folks and children have the most fun laughing at the little things.
To show them our appreciation and love, and to recognise the integral part they play in our lives, we want to show them off! Our little innovators sent us photos of themselves with their grandparents to be displayed in our “Celebrating Our Grands” appreciation wall. The photos are put in photo frames that they have personally decorated.
This opportunity allows us to start cherishing the special bond with our grands and let them know how much they mean to us!
