The Nursery 2, Kindergarten 1 and 2 children were so excited to show their red and white clothes to their classmates! To kick off the event, the children listened and sang to the classic National Day songs of various languages. They sang to the tune of Count On Me, Singapore, Chan Mali Chan, Munnaeru Vaalibaa and the Chinese version of the song, Home.
After singing along to the songs, the children got ready for an Art and Craft Zoom with the residents from All Saints Home. Both the children and residents began to tear red paper into smaller and pasted it on the top part of their paper plates! It represents the colours of our flag!
The residents and children went on to colour their Merlion head and went on to paste the Merlion head at the centre of the paper plate.
The Kindergarten 1 children, did their version of the artwork by painting their paper plates, colouring the different symbols of Singapore and pasted it on the centre of the paper plates.
The Kindergarten 2 children went on to design
their own paper plates by drawing and pasting sequins.
The children ended by performing and singing to the 2022’s National Day song, Stronger together for the residents. The residents were excited as they waved their Singapore flags and waved at the children.
The children and the residents really enjoyed the time celebrating National Day together and were happy to see their craft displayed as a bunting in class!
