As part of our sustainability efforts, children at My First Skool @ 491 Admiralty Link worked together to spruce up our existing garden. They planted a variety of plants with the guidance of our teachers, such as Celery Plant, Spring Onion Plant, Curry Leaves and Pandan Leaves. Children learnt about the basics of caring for our plants as well as shoulder the responsibility of watering them daily.
My First Skool @ 491 Admiralty Link also collaborated with SWAMI Home as they had recently acquired a garden on their premises. To mark our support and partnership, My First Skool and SWAMI Home did an exchange of plants on 1 August 2024. We presented the plants planted by our children using recyclable materials such as used milk tins as plant pots.
In return, SWAMI Home provided us with Indian Borage Plants, Holy Basil and Thai Basil Plants, Aloe Vera Plants, Lemon Grass, Purple Long Brinjal Plants and 2 Hydroponic Plants. Mr Lien, their gardener explained to us the benefits of these plants and gave tips on ways to take care of them. Mr Lien also suggested teaching our children the concept of soil-less planting to expand their knowledge and love for plants.
