The theme for our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project is ‘Caring for the Earth, Our Home’. We would like to encourage children to do their part to care for the Earth and the environment by practicing two of the 3Rs: Reduce and Reuse.
ii) Reuse
We were delighted to hear about NParks Gardening with Edibles programme. We applied for the seed packets and reused drink bottles to plant the seeds.
Besides learning to care for the environment and practise the habit of reusing, the opportunity to watch the seeds grow has also taught children to be patient as it takes time for the seeds to sprout.
