Since April, Our N2-K2 children embarked on a quest to reduce wastes by recycling and upcycling. They watched videos on what is recycling all about and gathered various ideas on how to turn something old into new through upcycling. At the same time, our daily neighbourhood walks have been beneficial for the children as they get to observe how trash is cleared and where the different recycling bins are located.
After weeks of brainstorming ideas and gathering recycled materials, the three classes managed to create three different magnificent things within their own class. The N2 children made a board game, K1 made storage boxes and K2 made some really magnificent chairs!
As part of our parental involvement, we encouraged parents to collect and use recycled materials to create something magnificent of their own together with their children at home. We also invited them to view our project exhibition when we had successfully completed our magnificent creations.
