As teacher’s day draws near, our K2 children decided that they would like to make a small craft for the teachers and support staff in school to thank them for their care and love this teacher’s day. The children decided between two types of flower crafts and with the help of their teachers, they managed to deliver a small surprise to the teachers around the school. They even included a small note at the back to show their appreciation to them.
While celebrating our teachers, it is also important that children remember about the less fortunate. in collaboration with our Intergeneration programme, our children decide to pack a care pack for the elderly. The teachers reached out to PCF Sparkle Care © Yew Tee and planned a visit for the children.
Other than their performances, the children also decorated a flower pot on their own.
They hope to use their own crafts to garner donations from their parents to get items for the elderly at Sparkle Care. They requested for items from the parent, such as Low sugar biscuits, milo and coffee packets to pack in their care pack for the elderly.
Our parents also played an important part by showing their support towards their children’s project. They bought many items along in exchange for their children’s decorated flower pot. Other than the flower pot, the parents also received a special gift bag that included a Gardens By The Bay ticket that was proudly earned by their child for completing the Green Guardian Programme.
We hope that through our SSDB project, our children become more appreciative of their surroundings, things and people around them.
In our next story, we will be sharing with you on our journey to Sparkle Care!
