In line with our project focus on “Appreciating Family” for the month of July, the Nursery & K1 Class for TCC Hougang, as well as the Toddler & K1 Class for TCC Clementi, conducted a combined class parent function to the Singapore Garden Festival 2018. The Festival was organized by Gardens by the Bay, who was also the kind sponsor of our entry tickets.
All children from the said classes, together with their immediate family members and grandparents were invited for the function. TCC Hougang had their function on 21 July and had 145 participants attending, while TCC Clementi had 139 participants for theirs on 28 July.
The children and their families had a wonderful time of bonding throughout the evening. Such as…
… eating a picnic-style dinner together in the evening sun…
… working together on the activity sheet specially designed by us as they go on the guided tour around the Singapore Garden Festival…
The activity sheet included fun and engaging questions (“How many super trees are there?”) and tasks (eating sunflower seeds at the Sunflower station). Children and their families also had the opportunity to submit their best, cutest and funniest photographs taken together to win attractive prizes at the end of the event!
… admiring the beautiful garden landscape together…
Isaac (Nursery Class) from TCC Hougang exhilarated by the magnificent display of the Super Trees behind him.
… and finally enjoying the Garden Rhapsody Light & Sound Show at the end of the event and being treated to part of the NDP display of the aerospace fireworks.
Families from TCC Hougang (top) and TCC Clementi (bottom) buzzing with excitement for the evening ahead.
It was a memorable evening together but surely the greater blessing from the function was being able to enjoy it with the company of each other as a family.
