In support of NParks’ “Biodiversity Week for Schools” from 18 May to 3 June, our K1 and K2 children participated in the “Playtime with Shelly the Hawksbill Turtle” activity.
Through a short animated video and interactive sticker book, the children surely had fun learning about the conservation efforts and marine life in Singapore as they followed the adventures of Shelly the Hawksbill Turtle.
Children from TCC (Hougang) and (Clementi) taking the message of conservation seriously.
Besides inculcating the sense of responsibility towards environmental cleanliness in the children, the teachers also took the opportunity to share about the 3R’s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) to eliminate waste and protect our environment. This is also part of our curriculum teaching on Earth Day, which was on 22 April.
As Charlotte, a K2 girl from our Clementi Centre puts it, “We must take care of the turtles; otherwise there will be no more turtles next time.”
