Our ’Start Small, Dream Big’ endeavour in AceKidz Creative EduCare began during SG50 when we started working with Xin Yuan Community Care, our President’s Challenge beneficiary. As we continue with SSDB for the third consecutive year, the ties we have established with XYCC has strengthened and our children continue to build meaningful bonds with the elderly commmunity through planned activities which aim to build bonds of love and friendship between the little ones and seniors in our local community.
We organised a ‘Visit to AceKidz’ at the beginning of the SSDB for the children to get to know the elderly better as the little ones played host throughout the event. Prior to the visit, the children prepared little art & craft gifts of love and practised well to come up with a delightful mini concert performance on their own stage.
They dedicated the items for our esteemed guests who enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
Sharing a nutritious & delicious lunch together at our centre was another highlight of the successful bonding event. The wonderful support from parents deserve much credit as they demonstrated their generosity through their donations of items for the goody bags presented to each senior and other food items like rice, biscuits, oil and many other useful gifts which our Teachers helped to pack and carry to the bus.
The children lovingly packed the goody bags which they helped to decorate using recycled material. Through all these little acts of sharing and caring, our children indeed prove that we can do small things with great love and build lasting community bonds ❤️
