The teacher conducted various lessons revolving around the topic, ‘A Pet is for Life’ to teach the children to be responsible and considerate pet owner and not to abandon pets, especially not to get a pet on impulse.
A learning corner was set-up for the children to role-play as pet owners and learn how to take care of pets.
Children learnt how to take care of pets such as the proper way to carry the pets, putting a leash on a dog before walking the dog, recognising different homes and food to be provided for different pet animals, etc.
As part of home-school partnership, the children, along with their parents used old t-shirt to prepare ‘dog toy’.
At the end of the project, the children learnt how to be a responsible pet owner. The objectives of this project were met as although we started small but, in the end, we were able to spread the significant message of ‘A Pet is for Life’.
