During the Mid Autumn Festival, our centre, PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Keat Hong Blk295 (DS), together with the children and their parents took part to bring festive joy to the elderlies in MWS Bethany Nursing Home.
The children with their parents created lanterns from recycled materials and our centre contributed mooncakes, pomelos and dry food. Children from Playgroup to K2, performed a folk songs English and Chinese to entertain the residents and staff of the MWS Bethany Nursing Home.
All with the intention to brighten the elderlies’ day and bring to their awareness that they are cared for and loved by our community. At the same time making the children aware of the less privilege elderlies and encourage them to have respect and empathy for others.
Children were engrossed decorating the boxes for putting the lanterns and dry food for the elderlies.
Our students were actively engaged creating their lanterns using recycled materials with their parents.
The hand made lanterns were nicely packed into boxes together with the dry food stuffs contributed by our Centre.
Children also put in effort to do a small performance that was recorded and given in a CD to the residents.
