On 7th August 2020, the children from My First Skool Blk 212 Chua Chu Kang Central had their National Day celebration in their respective classrooms. During this unprecedented period of time, our children continue to brainstorm how they can play their part in keeping themselves safe and stay away from COVID-19 virus. The children decided to live the ‘I can create Sustainability’ spirit through a soap making activity.
Using natural materials found in the centre’s garden, the children are taught on how to remain sustainable by learning how to create their own soap. They had suggested to use flowers such as lavender and jasmine together with melted soap bars to create personalized soap bars for themselves, family members and also elderly in Choa Chu Kang Zone 4 Silver Corner. Through this activity, our children foster a strong sense of responsibility as a citizen of the nation to show care and support to everyone in the community so as to nurture good hygiene practices.
