K1 and K2 children visited Future World: Where Art Meets Science exhibition at ArtScience Museum on 4 July 2019. Prior to the exhibition, children attended various workshops conducted by facilitators from the museum.
K1 children attended Light & Color workshop where they experimented and learnt about light spectrums using a spectrophotometer. They also made their own spectrophotometer and brought them back to the centre for further exploration.
Similarly, the children were mesmerized and bedazzled as they wandered through the Crystal Universe. In the Crystal Universe, lights are digitally controlled and the installations changed according to movement and motion.
K2 children attended Make Your Own Tote Bag workshop where they learnt the process of silkscreen printing. The children were introduced to materials such as photo emulsion, sensitizer and the scoop coater, which were used in the different process of silkscreen printing. They also had the opportunity to choose prints and colours to create their own unique tote bags.
At the Future World exhibition, children had a great experience interacting with the various digital installations. They played the fruit slide, designed their own vehicles and buildings and watched their creations displayed at the lively Town.At the Light Ball Orchestra space, children had lots of fun playing and interacting with the light balls. They watched the balls changed colours and sounds whenever they patted the light balls.
It was truly an eye opener for the little ones, to understand how Art and Science could create these futuristic installations.
