In light of the current Covid-19 outbreak, there are many people who have stepped out of their comfort zone to contribute to the society in ensuring our health and safety. Thus, from this project, we hope to raise awareness in our children and instill the value of being appreciative towards all the different community helpers.
We started the launch party in individual classes where children were introduced to the Start Small Dream Big project and its objectives by watching the ‘Start Small Dream Big 2019 Finale’ and the ‘SSDB 2020 Launch’ videos.
The children were told about this year’s theme, ‘A Caring & Inclusive Home for All’ which led to our centre’s aim which is to show appreciation to people who have worked hard in protecting us in this trying period.
By watching an animation video ‘The Coronovirus Explained to Children’, the children had a better understanding about what is coronavirus, how it is spread, the harm it brings to our body and how we can contain the virus from circulating.
Battling this virus is not easy and it is a blessing to reach this present stage. The children were shown the silent heroes who have contributed tremendously for the good of our community.
Within individual classes, the children discussed about who they wish to show their gratitude to and how they can convey their appreciation towards them.
