During the project launch, the K1 children from MK@Yishun were actively involved in brainstorming ways they could contribute towards the cause and make a difference. We were impressed by their creativity and enthusiasm as they came up with various ideas on how they can be involved both at school and at home with the guidance from the teachers.
To gain a better understanding of the importance of their actions, the children were engaged in watching educational videos and going through interactive slides. This helped them realize the impact of their choices on the environment and inspired them to take action.
As part of their commitment, the children pledged to be warriors of the earth and make ‘Earth Day, Everyday’. They understand that small, conscious, and consistent efforts can make a significant difference in the long run. They are excited to embrace this mindset and apply it to their daily lives.
They wrote their pledges on a star template and placed it up on our DIY tree by the classrooms’ corridor, where they get to be reminded of daily as they walk on by.
