This year for SSDB 2019 project, our tagline is “Embrace The Uniqeness & Conquer Kindness With The World”
With this project, we hope to instill great values such as kindess, caring, understanding and respect each other. These values play an important role in our multi-racial nation. We hope that our children can welcome the people of different races and religion openly.
Thus, the aim of this project is to introduce the different cultures such as Chinese, malay, indian and other races from their history, types of clothings, dishes, celebrations and many more.
As a kickstart to this project, we planned a trip to Indian Heritage centre to learn about indian culture..
Phase 1 : Indian Culture
K1 and K2 children went to Indian Heritage Centre to learn about Indian culture.
Teachers shared the different poses, clothes and places from the past and present.
The children got to try out the Indian ethnic clothes. Arn’t they handsome and pretty?
They did a short dramatization of an Indian family. Lucky them as they got to wear the Indian ethnic clothes during the act.
Teacher introduced the pots and pans that could be found in an Indian household. Children played with it and pretended to cook something.
Children got to see Mahatma Gandhi and listened to his history.
That’s the end of our Indian Culture tour. We learnt alot today!:)
