To kick-start our SSBD project, Bethany Child Care Centre launched a Zoom session with our parents and children on the 31st of May 2021. Parents were briefed on the service learning project and filled up the SSDB pledge cards with their children.
In line with our theme of ‘Bethany Cares’, the teachers created a Home-Based learning package of parent-child activities spanning over a period of four weeks with a different focus each week-
-
Caring for myself
-
Caring for my family
-
Caring for the community
-
Caring for the earth
In collaboration with the Singapore Kindness Movement, we hope that these activities will bring children on an experiential journey on how to ‘Care’ not just for themselves but for the larger community that they belong to. We strongly believe that the early years are the foundation for good character development. All the activities were put together to build character and to instill values in our children- to teach our children to start, show and share “Care”.
It only takes one person to make a difference even when we are in the midst of these trying times of a pandemic.
Most importantly, we also want to engage our families to be part of this CARE Journey, as we support parents who keep their children at home during Phase 2(HA).
Stay tuned for more activities as our Care Ambassadors embark on more adventures with their parents…!
We pledge to be special agents of SSDB and to give back to the community by Caring!
