In the interest to promote kindness and develop friendship in the classroom, the teachers encouraged children to create a special memento for their friends. Prior to that, they were given ample time to share in class their thoughts on friendship. They also shared about the things they like about their friends and what they enjoy doing together. As a way to thank their friends, they created a lovely hand-print flower.
Everyone enthusiastically gathered for a small group session where they got the platform to give their flowers to their friends. Inculcating friendship includes teaching the concept, modelling appropriate behaviour and providing opportunities to practice it with constructive feedback. This in return will reinforce friendship and respect.
