A community cares and shares

“Is it the old people are like us? Their daddies and mummies are working so they need to go childcare too?”

This was one of the many questions that the children asked when we introduced the term Eldercare through incidental learning.

As we approach the concept of Eldercare and the activities they do, the children decided they would like to pay them a visit and to share their likes with the elderlys. Some of the items the children came up with were curry rice, chocolate biscuits, salad, milo. To exchange for some cash to purchase them for their visit, the children came up with various craft works for sale. At the same time, they shared about their initiatives with their parents and many came to school with donations in kind.

Now the trip has been planned and the children are looking forward to pay them a visit.
