Over the past two years, the children at YWCA Ang Mo Kio CDC have set up fund raising projects by selling their pre-loved items at a bazaar at the centre and visited the elderly to perform for them and share some goodies with them.
Joining the Start Small Dream Big project for the third year in a row is going to be an exciting experience for the K1 and K2 children at YWCA Ang Mo Kio CDC because this year, the children are doing something different… Something that’s definitely going to be very exciting!
They are going to produce, direct and star in their very own “mini movie”. The K1 and K2 children were not only taught how to make a movie, hold and manipulate the camera, kinds of shots to take for the movie, etc. They are going to be the stars in this movie!
On the 27th of April 2019, the children had their SSDB Party Launch at the Ang Mo Kio CDC. A photographer from ECDA joined us to capture the merriment during the launch and happy smiles on everyone’s faces.
Parents and other family members were invited to join the children for the first ever screening of the trailer that the children have made for their movie. Everyone was feeling excited! There were snacks and even a photobooth for all to enjoy.
Part of the festivities that day was a Zumba dance performance wherein the children and the parents actively joined! We do have parents who are quite the dancers!
The parents and the children worked hand in hand in creating some props that the children will be using for the movie. Creative juices were pouring out as parents worked with their children in designing posters and capes!
We have seen some very artistic children and even parents! Who would’ve known out YWCA AMK CDC parents were artists too!
Here’s a sneak peek of our movie trailer. We hope you enjoy viewing as much as we enjoyed creating it!
Watch out for the full movie this August 2019.
