A Food Donation Drive was held from 14 September to 25 September 2020 where parents purchased and donated necessity items such as coffee and milk powder, cooking oil and jam spread, in exchange for the children’s upcycle crafts. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all parents for their generous donations and support throughout this project journey!
After packing the items, the teachers delivered them to Chee Hoon Kog Moral Home For The Aged Sick with the help of Mr Goh, our parent volunteer.
Although our Nursery children were not able to visit and interact with the elderly at the home due to the current Covid-19 situation, they decided to prepare a special performance for the elderly via video! They sang and dance to ‘’Chan Mali Chan’, ‘Baby Shark’ and ‘Washy Washy Clean’.
To celebrate the end of our 2020 SSDB journey, children watched a video of their project journey and performances for the elderly. They also shared some learning points from the Zero Waste project.
In conclusion, this Zero Waste project has helped not just our children but teachers as well to be aware of the waste management issues in Singapore and the importance to cultivate good environmental behaviours. We will continue to practise our advocacy to live a Zero Waste lifestyle in the Centre and at home to care for the environment.
