“Flatten the Curve, Save Lives, Touch Hearts” On the 10th of June 2020, our school had our first virtual “Start Small, Dream Big” Launch to allow children to gain more awareness about the ongoing pandemic that is happening around the world called the Covid-19. The Launch was conducted on Zoom where the children attended the launch at their respective classes through a laptop.
We kickstarted the programme by singing the National Anthem as well as the PCF Sparkletots pre-school song.
After which, the children and staff watched a simple yoga exercise video and they followed the stretches and poses shown.
Following that, the children was introduced to a simple short video that talks about the Covid-19 virus using simple words to help children understand it better. The video shared about the signs and symptoms of Covid-19 as well as the ways to prevent it.
As for the highlight, we had a shaving foam activity conducted by Teacher Alexis. The shaving foam was used as a visual aid to represent “germs”. Teacher Alexis demonstrated to the children how the foam will spread. Through the demonstration, the children was able to visualise how fast germs spreads and the importance of washing their hands daily to keep germs away.
