SSDB “Be Kind to Pets” CAS Talk and Interaction Session with Dog
To kickstart our “Start Small Dream Big – Be Kind to Pets” project, we invited Guan Ling from CAS (Causes for Animals Singapore) to our classroom to conduct a talk on animal welfare. She brought Miki the schnauzer along. The children learnt that pets are for life, and that we should not abandon them. Besides feeding them their meals, and water, we should also care for them by providing them with a safe and clean environment, play with them, and bring them on walks etc. She also educated the children about how to interact respectfully and appropriately with dogs, such as not to stare at them, or pull their tails, and touch their paws. The children then interacted with Miki by touching him gently. It was definitely an amazing and eye-opening experience for all of us, and it was evident that children enjoyed it very much.
