On the 21st of July 2017, NurtureStars @ SAFRA Yishun did the Little Entrepreneur Project using Racial Harmony as a theme. Parents and guardians were invited to come along and enjoy the carnival in school. The activity started with an introduction – “video clip” on how Racial Harmony has started in Singapore. Followed by a parent giving a talk about Chinese tradition on Lion Dance. Other than the games and stationary booths, there were also have six cultural booths, such as the Japanese, Filipino,Chinese, Eurasian, Malay and Indian, selling different kinds of food, toys and drinks. The K1 and K2 children were the ones manning the booths with a little guidance from the teachers. Parents and their children had their tour while using up their coupons to buy stuffs from the different booths!
The centre would also like to thank all parents for the support as money raised goes to Ju Eng Home – NurtureStars’ appointed charity partner. From the planning stage to the actual event, the children learned critical life skills such as brainstorming, planning, organizing, working as a team and different cultures. It was indeed a successful charity event and an enjoyable learning journey for our children.
