“Our Loving Hearts - Caring for the Elderly” was the theme for this year’s SSDB project. In this project, we had the opportunity to collaborate with Grace Lodge Nursing Home once again. The main aims of SSDB are to create awareness to our children about caring for the elderly and how they can contribute to the society. Children were involved in activities such as making a flower hand towel and packing healthy snacks. Children put in effort to learn singing and dancing to different cultural songs.
On 2 August 2019, N2 to K2 children, teachers and parents spent a meaningful morning with the elderly at Grace Lodge Nursing Home. The children sang and danced enthusiastically for the elderly. The elderly enjoyed their performance. After the performance, all the children moved around to present the prepared gifts and interacted with the elderly by shaking hands, giving hi five and saying thank you. Parents, who attended the event, were happy to see their children perform.
Back in centre, children were reinforced on the ways on how they should care for others. This SSDB project went smoothly and we wish to give our best for future SSDB’s project.
