Outcome of the Project:

Children learnt how they can help to preserve the mother nature. Children learnt how they can contribute to the environment by going through small steps and dream big through exploring the various ways of planting in a limited spaces with the use of recycled items and lean the importance of the ecosystem and bringing in the cultural values into the school.

Our children learnt to apply the core values of graciousness and respect during their journey. Our children learned to develop empathy for others, serve with a heart and make a difference to the community beyond school.
Dream of the Future: Making a Difference in the Community:

Institute of Mental Health presents to our school a great opportunity especially the children, parents and staff to integrate and learn gardening skills from the clients( patients who are long stayer)whom have been trained and facilitate by the staff and clinicians of IMH

Learning Experience to IMH:

The goal of the school children is to learn from the clients of IMH their skill in planting green and while so doing they also develop an initiative to integrate society of different background.

This integration effort yields result of understanding and compassion normal people are extending to people who have psychiatric disorder.

Hydroponic cultivation of green is now a knowledge shared by the clients to the school children who may in turn share with others such as family and wider community.
Learning outcomes of the children:

Children get the opportunity to observe patients with abnormality can integrate with the society.

Children leant to apply the core values of graciousness and respect during their experience. They will be doing their part for community by giving the proceeds from the sale of the sale of the items to the President challenge donation drive.
Outcome to the Environment:

It was perceived by many the danger of close contact with people who have psychiatric disorder. The institute has great facilities for treatment and care of such patients. The success of gardening reflects on the abilities of the clients that it also demonstrates the stable psychiatric disorder of such people in our society.

It promotes positive values and understanding from the society and the wider communities.
Reflections:
- Children were engaged in completing their reflective journal. They shared their thoughts and observations with their friends and family. Parents also felt reassured that their children were brought into a safe environment to learn about the community. It is also a good testimony for teachers to see that everyone plays a part in our community.
