1.Caring and contributing to our community helpers and the environment.
We encouraged all levels (T-K2) to participate by decorating the paper sunflowers and giving it to the community helpers in the neighbourhood (N2-K2) as a token of appreciation. We also encouraged our parents to be involved in this project through “home connection” whereby parents from all levels (T-K2) made time to create something meaningful to them and their child using only recycled materials (Family Diaroma & Family Tree).
- Increase public Awareness of key social issue (3Rs & Environment)
Our centre was invited by Woodlands Galaxy Community Club to do a public performance at Kampung Admiralty as part of Singapore
Bicentennial Project Exhibition at Sembawang GRC. Props for their Racial Harmony dance are made by recycled materials (Cardboards,
vitagen bottles, unused cloths) contributed by our parents. We also involved our N2 children by encouraging them to dance together with the K1s and K2s for their Mother’s day performance
using props made by recycled materials. Thus, spreading awareness to the public by showing them that recycled materials can be useful
for many kinds of occasions. Again, 896B is re-invited by Woodlands Galaxy Community Club to perform for National Day 2019.
3. Build positive Relationship with the community and its members
By participating in the public performances, it helps us to build and sustain relationships with current or new organisations in which will
allow us to be invited in more events where the children are able to showcase and spread awareness to the public. From this, not only
we are able to achieve our objective of increasing awareness to the public, the children are also able to learn more about the key social
issues highlighted in the future events that are organized by thecommunity.
- Apply their positive Energy and creativity in every activity.
We get our children to express their ideas and thoughts on how they feel about performing to the public and what they can learn from the word “Bicentennial”. Ultimately, we encourage our children to take part in all the activities that we have in line for them. By them participating, our children are able to relate to their experiences and cultivate values (eg. Empathy and Care) throughout the project.
