After the visit to ACRES Singapore, the children were inspired to do their part to aid wildlife conservations effort in Singapore. Thus, they were excited when the teachers told them they were going to have a Family Day Carnival to create more awareness on wildlife conservation.
On the day of the carnival, teachers and children got busy as they did the final preparation of the different booths as well as setting up the venue.

At 5pm, parents and children gathered at the holding area of the venue as our teacher and child Emcees kicked start the event. This was followed by a short performance by children representatives that were dressed up in animal costumes.
It was a great partnership between parents (even grandparent) and our school as they rendered their service and time to help out at the event in all ways! We had parents setting up booths doing henna, selling food and game stall. Our principal took the opportunity to thank them by giving out certificate and gift as a token of appreciation.
The carnival was bustling with activities such as henna, balloon sculptures, photo booth, sales of children’s works and food and games such as ‘Lucky fish’, ‘Spider Trap’ and ‘Feed the pet’ and ‘Knock them down’. We are proud to have little helpers at the booth engaging customers to buy the products!

Fig. The event would not have been possible if not for the amazing partnership between the centre and our students’ parents.
It was tiring for everyone but warming to our hearts that the event turned out to be a success. We had raised substantial fund for President Challenge and inculcated values in our children and encouraged them to give back to the society! We enjoyed every moments and believed in SSDB’s motto – ‘No one can do everything but everyone can do something’.
