This year, the children from My First Skool Clementi Block 428, 434 and 435 embarked on a Start Small Dream Big project to help the wildlife animals in Singapore.
Prior to this project, every class have a class pet. When the pet fish in Kindergarten 1 fell sick and passed away, children started to ask “What happen to the fish? Why did the fish die?”. The teachers took the opportunity to educate the children on why animals die, and the alarming rate of wildlife animals being endangered as a result of animal cruelty.
To prepare for the launch, the class teachers from Infant to K2 discussed their animal of choice with the respective classes, as well as decorating the class with representations of the chosen animals.

At the same time, the project lead contacted Animal Concern Research & Education Society (ACRES) Singapore and expressed a keen interest in collaborating with them as the company plays an active role in wildlife conservation in Singapore.
After the preparation was done, parents were invited to come down to the centre to witness the launch of the SSDB project. The launch started with a sharing session to inform parents on what was the project about, as well as an overview of what the centre will be doing throughout the duration of this project. Next, parents followed their children back to their respective classrooms, where they recited the SSDB pledge and participated in the activities prepared by the class teachers.
