SSDB 2022 - Fundraising Event – Never Too Young To Give

During the June Holidays, the children were occupied with decorating the cardboard Singa Figurines, which was kindly provided by the Singapore Kindness Movement. Children displayed creativity with their decoration and used small ornaments like ribbons, strings, glitters to bring the Singa to life. With the teachers’ guidance, they were also able to adapt the art techniques that they have learned during lessons and portray various famous storybook illustration styles on the Singa figurines. The children used a variety of mediums such as watercolour pencils, oil pastels, acrylic paint and magic markers. After completion, they put their Singas up for adoption via Give.Asia and invited their parents to adopt their Singas for a small amount of $10.

Through the Give.Asia portal, M.Y World @ Marsiling Greenview was able to take part in the MYMCA’s Never Too Young To Give Campaign during this Fundraising event. It was really encouraging to see the parents’ support for their children in this fundraising event! We would like to extend our gratitude to the parents of our N2-K2 class for their generous support in our Fundraising event. Thanks to their donations, we have raised a total of $2,020 during the Fundraising event held between 27 June – 8 July 2022!

We are pleased to have successfully come to the end of the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project for the year 2022, and we would like to take a moment to look back on the activities and collaborations that have occurred through this project.

The N2s – K2s have been involved with planned activities throughout Term 2 that are infused with the core value of Kindness and Caring – caring for families, friends, and community. This is accomplished with the support of Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) and Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA), for kindly providing us with SSDB resource packages, SKM Kindness Day SG packages, and most importantly, the Singa cardboard figurines that led our Fundraising event!

We would also like to extend our appreciation to NTUC Health Senior Day Care – Marsiling and Give.asia for enabling us to be part of a giving community that supports the less fortunate, the needy and the elderly.

We hope that by undertaking this project, it has strengthened the core values of Kindness and Care in the children. We hope that this project has inspired parents, families and the community to nurture the children in cultivating kindness in their everyday lives.
