The children from Skool4kidz @ Tampines Green Leaf partnered with the Brahm centre this year to carry out Project ‘Helping Hands’.
A food donation drive was carried out over the past months - in which various types of food items such as rice, biscuits, oats, oil and noodles etc. were collected through the sale of artworks by the children.
Through the generous contributions from parents, a total of 42 food hampers were packed and handed over to the volunteers of Brahm Centre for distributions to those in need staying in Tampines, Simei as well as MacPherson.
Throughout the entire process of the food donation drive, the children were able to gain awareness about the environment around them, learn about small yet meaningful ways that they can contirbute to the society as well as develop important values such as compassion, empathy and appreciation.
The K2 children from Skool4Kidz @Tampines GreenLeaf were given the opportunity to head down to Brahm Centre @ MacPherson to personally meet the beneficiaries of the project.
They performed two songs and interacted with the elderlies in the centre. Through their performances, the children were able to bring joy and smiles to the faces of many - showing that indeed a little effort can go a long way in making a difference in someone else’s life.
Truly, the children at Skool4kidz @ Tampines Greenleaf had a lot of fun carrying out this year’s SSDB project - indeed it was a meaningful journey for the children to unleash their capabilities and give back to the community!
