“My Dad, my Hero” was the theme for Father’s Day. The children were taught to honour their fathers, for fathers are always there holding, guiding and nurturing them along the way. From the song “ I see a Hero” by Shawna Edwards, we learnt that daddy is seen as the light and star and children hope to grow up just to be like daddy, their hero.
We made and decorated a special gift holder to express our love for our daddies.
We also shared a Chinese Story “ I Want A Cup Of Dinosaur” by Hong Zu Er. It is a book launched by The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre to promote the learning of local culture. The story is about a boy, Le Le’s humorous encounter at a coffee shop. His father took the patience to explain every detail to him.
Afterwards, the children made ‘milo dinosaur’ in school and they loved it. We also encouraged the children to visit a coffee shop with their fathers on the weekend to order a cup of milo dinosaur to enjoy it with their “Hero Daddies”.
