In June, the N2 to K2 children went to the Red Cross Campsite where the volunteers taught them how to do chest compressions and attend to choking incidents.
They were also taught what to pack in their bag in case of disaster emergencies.
In August, Red Cross Junior’s mascot came to visit! The N2 to K2 children were able to learn and practise how to administer simple bandaging on an injury.
The children had fun learning about safety and how to help someone they love or anyone if they get hurt.
The Infant to K2 children prepared a special thank you gift for their caregivers. The infant to N2 children decorated their appreciation cards by colouring and drawing on their cards. They also added their signature palm and foot stamps on the cards.
The K1 and K2 children made and designed a door hanger for their caregivers. They drew the people they are thankful for and also wrote appreciation notes on the heart-shaped papers. There were variations in the people they thought of when the word caregiver was explained to them. Parents, grandparents, brother, sister, aunty, uncle, teachers and helpers are their caregivers.
It was heartwarming to see the children saying thank you for the care they received while gifting the lovely token of love. We hope everyone feel appreciated!
