In order for the children to have a clearer understanding on the current situation the wildlife animals are in, the project lead arranged for the Nursery, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 children to visit ACRES Singapore. Prior to the visit, the class teachers engaged the children in discussions about ACRES as a company and what do they do.
At ACRES Singapore, children were ushered into the auditorium where they placed their belongings on the chairs provided. Next, they gathered at the open space next to the auditorium, where the staff at ACRES briefed the children on the Dos and Don’ts before they started the tour around the wildlife sanctuary.
At the sanctuary, children were able to take a closer look at the animals that are currently in rehabilitation. The staff informed them that the animals they see here are from previous wildlife rescue missions as well as police raids to stop illegal animal trades in Singapore.

After they finished the tour, children were invited back to the auditorium where Ms Sumita gave a brief introduction of ACRES and the wildlife conservation efforts that the company does. She also shared with the children some of the threats wildlife animals in Southeast Asia are currently facing, as well as small actions children can do to help these animals in Singapore. After the talk, Ms Sumita went around collecting donations that the children have prepared prior to the visit.
