Kinderland Ministry of Manpower held its annual Little Entreprenuer Project on 17 July 2018. We partnered with Lions Befrienders Singapore and raise funds to offer support for the seniors.
K1 and K2 children work together to man the booth.
The teachers and children started planning for the project since June. They brainstormed about how they could involve all the children to help raise funds at the Little Entrepreneur Project. Children built their ideas around the recent Simple Machines project, decided to put their knowledge into good use and created key holders with their teachers’ help. They designed wooden pieces with unique cultural and animal paintings and fixed hooks on their masterpieces to create the key holders.
Stickers and books were brought in by a neighbouring bookshop to enhance the fund raising experience. Parents also donated pre-loved books and toys for the event.
Pre-nursery children and their parents came to show their support too!
Kindergarten Two children designed banners and posters to promote the sale of the products and eagerly decorated the booths.
Through the process and implementation of the project, children’s entrepreneurial skills and team work were developed. They also experienced stepping out of their comfort zone to talk to the visitors who came to the school to support them. The interaction enhanced children’s confidence and language development greatly.
They learnt that through joint efforts, great dreams can be achieved. At a young age, they can definitely do their part to contribute to the society!
