On this day, our N2-K2 children had a wonderful opportunity to participate in a Healthy Lifestyle puppet show conducted by Health Promotion Board (HPB). The children had a great time singing along to songs, laughing to the comedic skits and learning about the different healthy habits they can do to keep themselves healthy, such as choosing the right food in all food groups and maintaining a balanced diet using ‘My Healthy Plate’, staying active through sports and exercises, practising good hygiene habits, as well as getting an adequate amount of sleep each day.
After the puppet show, the K1 children were given the opportunity to make healthy rice balls that includes healthy food from all food groups in ‘My Healthy Plate’, such as corns and carrots from the vegetable group, brown rice from the wholegrains group as well as tuna fish from the proteins group. The children then took turns and worked together to mix the ingredients in a big bowl and tried their best in moulding their rice portions into a ball. The teachers then assisted them in wrapping the rice balls using the plastic cling wrap. As it was also a Fruity Friday event, the children brought a serving of their favourite fruit and ate it together with their rice balls, making it a healthy and balanced meal!
