Last 22nd of July 2017, the centre held our annual Racial Harmony Celebration. This is to exhibit the different cultures and races of Singapore as well as beyond it. Parents, children and staff were dressed in their cultural attires to commemorate the occasion. There were game booths, arts and crafts booths, and food booths in the event. We exchanged activity coupons for canned goods/biscuits/instant noodles. The goods collected from the event were donated to Sunlove Senior Activity Centre as part of our “Start Small, Dream Big” project. This is to encourage our little children to give back to society, and in this case, to our beloved senior citizen neighbors. We are thankful to everyone for their support to make this event successful and to our Parent Support Group members for extending their help to us. Here are some photos from the event. Enjoy!
It’s such a joy to see our senior citizen neighbors’ faces brighten up as they receive presents from the children. The kids even sang a song for them and they sang along and clapped to the tune. We are happy to see them happy. After all, this is the essence of this project, giving back to society and making people happy in even the littlest way we can. Way to go kids! We’re proud of you.
