PCF Sparkletots @ Woodgrove 364 have launched our Start Small, Dream Big for 2023!
Embracing the theme “Helping Hands with Helping Hearts – A World for All Ages”, we would like to take this opportunity to increase awareness and understanding in intergenerational care amongst preschoolers and the people around them. For example, parents, grandparents, and the community they live in.
In this 6-month long project, we will embark on our second-year collaboration with Woodlands Care Home (WCH) and engage our children in various purposeful activities and have opportunities to learn how to be contributing citizens, interact with elderlies through enjoyable activities, and share their experiences through reflective practices.
On our prelaunch day, children got to choose a person to draw a portrait of. Some of them drew a picture of themselves, their parents, their grandparents or a family. This reflects how the people in our environment have made such an impactful impression to our daily lives.

Children did a short sharing session in class and talked about the person in their portrait. They pasted their portrait to form a big wall art, which will be showcased on one of the exterior walls of our school.
We promise that our children would learn valuable lesson from this year’s SSDB project.
After all, we envision to nurture our children as confident and creative learners with a caring heart.
Do keep a look out for the next update!
